Federation of Organizations will be here to provide information to residents within the Town of Brookhaven who are seeking rental assistance through the NYS OTDA website portal. The Emergency Rental Assistance Program is being funded through the US Treasury Department and administered through the OTDA. To be eligible, applicants must be able to prove/self-attest their financial impact as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and be at or below 80% the Area Median Income range. This program was enacted to ensure a decrease in evictions once the state moratorium is lifted come August 31. In attempt to help with housing stability, the ERAP program can provide eligible applicants with up to 12 months past due rent and utility arrears, as well as 3 months prospective rent in the future.
