In The history of the National Basketball Association, there have been some great scorers. LeBron James adds to his record total everytime the Los Angeles Lakers play. Right behind him is the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Others like Michael Jordan, Julius Erving, George Gervin and Kobe Bryant dominated the sport when they played.
None of them, however, accomplished what Wilt Chamberlain did one night in March of 1962 in the chocolate capital of the country, Hershey, Pa. Playing for the Philadelphia 76ers, Chamberlain scored a record 100 points against the New York Knickerbockers.
Award-winning sportswriter Hal Bock revisits that historic game and Chamberlain's great career in his next presentation for the Sachem Library. It is a riveting story of a player who revolutionized basketball and did something no player before or since has accomplished.
