Event Details
There was a time when Major League Baseball consisted of just 16 teams. Three of them were located in New York City and they were blessed with three of the best center fielders in baseball history. Willie Mays of the Giants, Mickey Mantle of the Yankees and Duke Snider of the Dodgers all wound up in the Hall of Fame. They were celebrated in songwriter Terry Cashman's tribute to that time called ``Talkin' Baseball.''
Award-winning sportswriter Hal Bock takes us back to the era of ``Willie, Mickey and the Duke,'' in his next presentation on June 27. Learn about the era of the 50s when these three stars dominated the game and served as an inspiration for songwriter Terry Cashman's ballad of baseball.
