Violence against women, and intimate partner violence in particular, has a very, very long history. In this sobering program, historian Kathy Wilson investigates the practice of violence against women in America in a search for answers to the question: why is it so hard to make it stop? An overview of more than 2000 years of history, this program helps to provides the context necessary to understand why domestic violence remains an American crisis.
