Program Description

Event Details

Ulysses S. Grant was the Commander of the Union Forces in the Civil War and the 18th President of the United States.  He had a meteoric rise to the top during the war, after an unsuccessful career prior to the war.  When Abraham Lincoln promoted Grant to Commander, he had full confidence that Grant would fight and win.  After a brilliant win over Robert E. Lee and the Confederacy, Grant was the overwhelming choice to replace Andrew Johnson as President, and he was elected and served two terms.  His story is inspirational and explains his status as one of the greatest Americans of all time!
