Unlike most dietary staples pasta comes in hundreds of shapes each one bearing a name that tells a story of the region from which it originated. Did you ever wonder what the words spaghetti linguine manicotti and lasagna actually mean? In this light-hearted informative talk Dr. Gioacchino Balducci will explore pasta from a historical linguistic and cultural perspective. Dr. Balducci is a former professor in the Department of European Languages Literature and Culture at Stony Brook University.
